Trucker
My next career plan.
My next plan is to become a truck driver.
Stuff that you need to know.
Truck drivers haul large amounts of cargo across long distances. They are the ones that carry cargo to areas that cannot be reached by trains. They are one of the main things that keep America going. If they disappeared, America would collapse.
Thw work environment is you get to drive trucks and even communicate with others over the radio. You communicate with other drivers and dispatch centers. You have to be able to multitask.
How to become one.
This is what you need to become a truckn driver.
- At least 18 years of age, though some companies require you to be 21.
- High school diploma.
- At least 2040 vision.
- Good hearing.
- The ability to see red, yellow, and green and distinguish between those colors. Even though on traffic lights, red is on the top or the left, yellow is always in the middle, and green is always on the bottom or the right, you need the ability to recognize them instantly from far away, which you cannot quickly do with color blindness. However, some visual impairments do not automatically disqualify you from getting a commercial drivers license (CDL).
- Clean driving record.
Workers are usually paid $50,000 - $80,000 every year depending on experience and route.
For the job outlook, the job is resilient, secure, and stable.
Similar jobs include ship captins, airline pilots, train drivers, and subway operators.
